Joining a CFA Breed Council
I want to be a breed council member – what do I need to do?? Answer a few simple questions below to find out! (This flowchart may also be viewed as a PDF)
Are you already, or have you previously been, a CFA breed council member?
Have you bred at least one CFA Grand Champion or Grand Premier of that breed??
Yes: Congratulations! You are eligible to renew using rapid renewal! You may renew online via our catalog, or via the PDF form.
No: Complete a membership application. You may pay via check or credit card.
Congratulations! You are now a CFA Breed Council Member!
Are you at least 18 years old?
No: Unfortunately, you are not eligible to join a CFA Breed Council.
Yes: Continue to the next question
Do you have a CFA registered cattery?
No: Unfortunately, you are not eligible to join a CFA Breed Council.
Yes: Continue to the next question
Are you a judge or officer of another cat registry?
Yes: Unfortunately, you are not eligible to join a CFA Breed Council.
No: Continue to the next question
Have you bred and registered at least 3 litters of kittens in your breed or division? (You must be listed as the breeder)
No: Unfortunately, you are not eligible to join a CFA Breed Council.
Yes: Continue to the next question
Have you bred at least one CFA Grand Champion or Grand Premier of the breed or division you are applying for? Have you registered a litter of this breed and exhibited at a CFA show with this breed within the last 2 years?
No to both questions: Unfortunately, you are not eligible to join a CFA Breed Council.
Yes (to either question): Congratulations! You are eligible to join a CFA Breed Council!!
If you are eligible, complete the membership application. You may pay via check or credit card, and submit the form to CFA Central Office either electronically or via regular mail.
Congratulations! You are now a CFA Breed Council Member!
