We are a CFA registered small, hobby RagaMuffin cattery where all of our cats are our beloved pets first and foremost.  They are raised all around us in our home with our young daughter (Director of Socialization), a bouncy young Keeshond (Moving Floof Cloud Pillow) that they all love to torment and then snuggle in with too, the Dad (6’2” Mr. FeeFiFoFum), and Mom (aka, Sanitation Worker and Food Dispenser).  

Breed Conservation is at the core of why we breed. Having originally started loving, living with, and breeding RagaMuffins in 2006, we take conservation of the original personality as the keystone to what a RagaMuffin is very seriously. This is what drives our every pairing in order to keep these important characteristics going and, if lucky, improve them in each new generation.

Personally coming from a strong science/medicine background combined with a love of animals, we rely on a more scientific approach to our breeding methodology.  If you’re a genetics or population biology geek like us, feel free to ask away about this! And of course, we leave no stone unturned in doing everything modern veterinary medicine and feline genetic testing has to offer to help keep our breed healthy now and for future generations - always learning and actively looking for new cat related research to dive into and use for the RagaMuffin.

Although we do occasionally take our Muffins out on the road and love showing them off for the public to see and for the judges to evaluate them to be sure we are always breeding to the physical Standard of Perfection (who doesn’t like winner ribbons?! Lol), our breeding program is definitely much more heavily focused on health, genetics, and personality as our #1 goal. Which pairing will provide us our next beauty queen/king is of course taken into consideration, but will always be a lower priority for us because PERSONALITY is the foundation of what makes a RagaMuffin, a RagaMuffin - and cat shows judge the physical characteristics, not the personality of a cat.

Because we do focus on personality so much, we do not take a ‘first come, first served’ approach to placing our kittens.  For our adopters, we take a more consultative approach and advisory role to help guide and educate you to help with matching you with your dream Muffin. For our kittens, we spend every day with each baby to get to know them and their own individual personalities and temperaments so we can understand what they need in a forever home to thrive. It’s truly wonderful and an honor when we get to be the glue that brings the 2 puzzle pieces together that fit just right.
