Parentage Panel Now Included as Part of Basic CFA DNA Testing

October 2, 2017

CatDNAtest.org announced updated parentage testing, as well as testing for Spinal Muscular Atrophy, is now available.

The updated parentage panel is now included as part of the Basic CFA Panel Test. The new panel examines 150 markers, which will establish a unique “fingerprint” for your cat. The markers of parents and offspring can be compared to confirm pedigree relationships between queen, sire and offspring. Parentage tables can be ordered during the online ordering process.

Meanwhile, for an additional cost, a test for Spinal Muscular Atrophy is also available. The test was created separately from the Basic CFA Panel Test due to the nature of the genetic mutation.

DNA services are performed by Neogen’s GeneSeek Operations lab, the world’s largest animal genetic testing laboratory.
