Updates to the 2026-2027 Show Rules

At its meetings on June 25, 2026 and August 4, 2026, the CFA Executive Board passed the following permanent show rule changes which are effective for the current show season.  The updated Addendum to the Show Rules can be found at https://cfa.org/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/26-27show-rules-addendum.pdf

General

• In accordance with the delegation’s vote to include Turkey in Region 9, all references to Turkey as part of the International Division have been removed from the Show Rules.

Definitions

• The definition of a BENCHED CAT for scoring purposes has been amended to make it consistent with other show rules. [SR 2.06]

Judges

• In light of changes in the policy which previously restricting CFA judges from guest judging for non-CFA clubs domiciled in the US, the show rules have been amended to remove such limitations. [SR 3.02(a), 3.12]
• If a judge does not stay at the show hotel, the actual documented cost, no more than the cost of the show hotel, may be charged by the judge. [SR 20.05]

Show Recordkeeping

• The process for exhibitors to make color class changes once judging has begun has been outlined. {SR 12.01, 12.15]
• The responsibilities of the Master Clerk with respect to the completeness and accuracy of the Clerk’s entries in the judge’s marked catalogue have been clarified. [SR 12.07, 12.08]

Show Surcharge

• Examples of the surcharge calculation for Agility have been added. [SR 13.08]

Divisional Awards

• In recognition of the fact that shows in Regions 1-7 and 9 are much closer to exhibitors in South/Central America than other shows in the International Division, points earned at shows Regions 1-7 and 9 will be counted toward Divisional Awards in the South/Central America geographic area. [Article XXXVI]
