Changes to Judging Program Rules

8.2       Breed/Division Color Class Sessions

  1. A total of three (3)two (2) shows must be outside their region, country or area (for China), or not less than five hundred (500) miles or four hundred (400) kilometers from their place of residence.

2.2 Judging Invitations to CFA Judges from International Division CFA Clubs (This is also Show rule 3.02)

  1. Invitations from CFA clubs in the International Division may be considered by CFA Judges of any status, Apprentice, Approval Pending or Approved. Approved or Approval Pending Judges, as well as those that are Approved in one Specialty and at least Apprentice in the Second Specialty, or Judges at any level that reside in the International Division. A Judge may judge only the specialty/specialties in which they are approved.
  2. Associate Judges may judge only in their designated area. They may not accept invitations outside their designated area.

RATIONALE: The current Judging Program Rule 12.2 a  allows judges of any status who reside in the International Division to judge anywhere in the world, including the International Division, however it restricts APT or Specialty APP Judges from Regions 1-9 the same judging opportunity.  An APT Judge from Thailand can judge in Japan, and an APT Judge form Japan should be able to judge in Thailand.  An APT judge from Regions 1-9 should be able to accept an assignment in Hong Kong or elsewhere in the ID.

Show Rule Changes That Affect CFA Judges

2.24 An OPEN, CHAMPION, PREMIER RING (OCP) is an allbreed competition where a judge will award Best AB Champion through 10th Best AB Champion and/or Best AB Premier though 10th Best AB Premier. Such a ring may be part of an existing judging ring or held as a stand-alone ring, but may not be held as part of a Super Specialty ring. In order for an OCP ring to be held in Championship, at least 30 Champions and Opens in Championship must be entered in the show. In order for an OCP ring to be held in Premiership, at least 15 Premiers and Opens in Premiership must be entered in the show.

11.23 c. “No Award – Ineligible for Entry” (NA/IE), which shall include a Household Pet which the judge has determined has two or more structural/coat mutations or any entry which does not conform to a breed’s existing colors, patterns or coat length and not otherwise listed in the disqualified section of a breed, or eligible for transfer to AOV.

12.10 When an award is withheld by the officiating judge under the provisions of show rules 11.22, 11.23, and 11.24, the chief ring clerk shall clearly mark in the judge’s copy of the ring catalog the reason: i.e., “Wrong Color” (WC), “No Award- Condition” (NA/Cond.), “No Award-Insufficient Merit” (NA/IM), “No Award–Ineligible for Entry” (NA/IE), “Disqualify-Undescended Testicle(s)” (DISQ-UT), “Disqualify-Bite (DISQ/BITE), or “Disqualify-All Other Reasons” (DISQ).
