B is for:
Balance – Cats maintain their balance via the vestibular system in their inner ear which governs balance and spatial orientation. Also, their flexible back and lack of a true collarbone allow them to twist and land on their feet.
Breed – is a standardized definition of a cat that is registered to a club or association and has a pedigree. Each cat breed has its own special characteristics, behaviors, etc. Cat breeds can be distinguished by analyzing facial features, color and texture of the coat, and body shape and size.
Blep – Is when a cat unintentionally leaves their tongue poking out just a little after grooming, licking, meowing, or any other activities. This term is also often used in reference to cats who look silly or cute.
Boop – is a gentle touch by a cat’s nose or head, a way for them to show that they love and trust you. A cat will nudge their nose against your face or hand. When a cat gives you a head boop, they are essentially giving you a gentle kiss. Since cats have scent glands located on their heads, they are also marking you as their territory.
Bronchitis – is the inflammation of the smaller breathing tubes in the lungs. Repeated coughing further irritates the lining of the breathing tubes and spreads infection to the trachea. Asthma and bronchitis are typically considered parts of the same syndrome. When this condition is long-term (two months or more) it may be defined by your veterinarian as chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).
