CFA News New issue of Fanc-e-Mews now available! The May/June edition of Fanc-e-Mews, CFA's free online magazine, has numerous exciting articles this month - we have a look at CFA's Top 10 Breeds; an explanation about Mesothelioma and Cats; and, an article about Protecting Your Pet from Pesky Parasites. The legislative group discusses cat leash laws. Our health section takes a look at genetics, plus Hot Weather Care Tips for Pets and How to Keep Foul Breath at Bay . On Friday 28 March, CFA is hosting a FREE seminar with lunch. The seminars, held at the Hilton Americas, 1600 Lamar, Houston, will start at 10:00am with each of the WCC members introducing their associations. This will be followed by presentations from Dr. Bruce Elsey (litter requirements for cats), Dr. Melba Ketchum from Shelterwood Laboratories (DNA testing), Dr. Pam Fonti (Royal Canin Cat Diets), Dusty Rainbolt (Cat Wrangling Made Easy - maintaining peace & sanity in your multicat home), and Kathryn Sylvia (the America Bobtail). California AB 1634, proposing mandatory neuter/spay of all cats and dogs over the age of 6 months, was withdrawn by the author (Assembly Member Lloyd Levine) during a hearing of the Senate Committee on Local Government on July 11, 2007. CFA NATIONAL AWARDS AND UPDATED PHOTOS! CFA held a gala awards banquet in Austin, TX on June 30, 2007 to present their annual awards. Photos of the 2006-2007 National Award Winners are now available -- the Top Twenty-five Cats, the Top Twenty-five Kittens, and the Top Twenty-five Cats in Premiership, plus awards for Hawaii and the International Division. In addition, the photos on our breed profile pages have been changed to showcase the breed winners from the 2006-2007 show season. We also have a newly designed slideshow of breeds available. PET FOOD RECALL IN THE U.S. AND CANADA - March 16, 2007 - Menu Foods Income Fund today announced the precautionary recall of a portion of the dog and cat food it manufactured between December 3, 2006 and March 6, 2007. The recall is limited to "cuts and gravy" style pet food in cans and pouches manufactured at two of the Fund's United States facilities.
