Eastern U.S. - Hurricane Floyd - SeptemberCFA's Disaster Relief Committee is closely monitoring Hurricane Floyd as it passes up the eastern coast of the United States. Should the need for animal rescue arise, the committee is ready to assist.UPDATE: 9/29/99. Members of CFA's Disaster Relief Committee are currently working in the Tarboro, Princeville, and Dodge City areas in North Carolina assisting with animal rescue/recovery efforts. Oklahoma/Kansas - MaySome of the worst tornadoes in US history hit hard in the Oklahoma City area on May 3rd, levelling thousands of homes. The chairman of CFA's Disaster Relief committee will be in this area on May 5th, and will be working in conjunction with local cat clubs/fanciers and Code 3 Associates to aid in the rescue of any animals left homeless. Code 3 Associates is a group of technically trained people who specialize in disaster relief, working out of a 75 foot long tractor trailer unit. |
