CFA Disaster Relief: 2001
New York City, September, 2001All CFA cat fanciers residing in the area of the World Trade Center have been accounted for and are safely staying with friends or at other alternate locations. Our thoughts and prayers are with them. Though the CFA disaster team could not get to New York City to assist in the rescue, relief, or recovery, of pets affected by the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center, many cat fanciers in the State of New York are assisting, especially in the fostering of cats and kittens. Much gratitude goes to PetsMart for donating supplies to help in this activity. The CFA Disaster Relief Fund has been in existence since 1993, and a 501(c)(3) organization since 1999. Donations from concerned breeders, exhibitors and cat clubs to the CFA Disaster Relief Fund are responsible for the thousands of dollars donated to not- for-profit organizations yearly to help in the rescue and relief of animals, especially cats, during times of disaster. The CFA Disaster Relief Fund will be sending a donation to the Suffolk County SPCA which is staffed by volunteers and working close to ground zero to the New York City disaster site. If you have any questions regarding the CFA Disaster Relief Fund specifically, or disaster work in general, please contact Pam DelaBar |
