CFA-BAP Receives Generous Food Donation from Royal Canin

April 8, 2013

Royal Canin recently donated approximately 2,000 pounds of cat food to the Cat Fanciers’ Association Breeder Assistance Program (BAP). Royal Canin’s generous donation goes a long way towards assisting breeders, shelters and rescues across the United States which are in need of food. Royal Canin has been involved with the BAP and the BAP Food Pantry since the program’s inception in 2006. The CFA BAP program helps and supports breeders who find themselves in an out-of-control situation by making assistance available through other breeders. The assistance is provided in confidence, with compassion to the individuals involved and with the well-being of the cats in mind.

Royal Canin’s donation demonstrates the company’s continued commitment to help breeders and rescue groups feed the cats. As well as aiding breeders in stressful situations, Royal Canin’s donation of their products also aids other cats in need across the country. In conjunction with the CFA National Food Pantry program, large quantities of Royal Canin donated food are distributed to shelters and rescue groups to aid in the care of their rescued cat populations. To date, in conjunction with Royal Canin, the CFA Food Pantry has shipped approximately 18,000 pounds of food around the country and donated over 25,000 pounds. Approximately 20 breeders and 12 rescue groups and shelters have been recipients of aid from the CFA Breeder Assistance Program and the Food Pantry.

Royal Canin is a global leader in pet health nutrition. In an industry that continues to adapt to popular trends. Their mission will remain the same; to constantly bring, through Health Nutrition and shared knowledge, the most precise nutritional solution for cats’ and dogs’ health needs, by building on constantly deepened scientific knowledge and Royal Canin’s roots in the feline and canine professional networks.

The Cat Fanciers’ Association, Inc. (CFA) was founded in 1906 as a not-for-profit association of member clubs and is the world’s largest registry of pedigreed cats. CFA’s mission is to preserve and promote the pedigreed breeds of cats and to enhance the well-being of ALL cats. CFA promotes education, responsible cat ownership and proper care to the owners of millions of cats worldwide. CFA and its affiliate clubs work nationally with local shelters to help humanely reduce homeless and feral cat populations and to encourage voluntary neuter/spay of pet cats.
